El Paso Child Support Lawyer
Texas Child Custody Lawyer
Everyone wants to do what is best for the children. Disputes arise when each parent has a different idea of what exactly that means. These disputes can become extremely heated and emotional, often causing people to lose sight of what they were trying to accomplish in the first place. An attorney handling these cases must be prepared to provide honest and straightforward representation, not to mention be willing to fight to achieve positive results.
I am attorney Mark T. Davis. Having handled child support, child custody and visitation cases since 1993, I know the importance of being honest and straightforward. I know that every case must be built with a trial in mind, because that may be what it takes to get results. I can resolve child support, custody and visitation matters related to divorce or paternity cases. I can also handle post-decree modification and enforcement of agreements.
Child Custody And Visitation
In Texas, the courts are much more interested in the needs of the children than they are in the needs of the parents. They are driven by a commitment to doing what is in the best interest of the children. In most cases, that is some sort of parenting time arrangement that allows both parents to remain a substantial part of the children’s lives. Unfortunately, the court does not know your children. You do. My goal is to make certain that the outcome reflects what is truly in the best interests of your children.
Guidelines are in place that outline how child support is to be calculated. It is based primarily on the incomes of the parents with other factors such as the amount of time each parent spends with the children, playing a role as well. On the surface, calculating child support seems simple, but it can be complex when a parent is self-employed or tries to hide income to prevent having to pay a fair amount. My goal is to see that payments are fair.
